How to decorate a tipi for your wedding

Mar 31, 2026 | Inspiration

You’ve got the dream tipi wedding venue in mind (hopefully that’s us at Hadsham Farm Weddings!), so now it’s time to think about the décor. Our Cotswold tipi wedding venue is a dream of a blank canvas – and a rather stylish one, even if we say so ourselves – but we know it can sometimes be a bit intimidating to work out how to bring it all to life. We’ve been lucky enough to host lots of awesome big days, and we love working with couples to create the coolest celebrations. Here’s our top tips on how to decorate a tipi for your wedding, the no-stress way.

Make an entrance

First impressions count, so it’s worth focusing on the entrance to your tipi wedding venue. Whether you line the path towards the tipi with festival flags or create your own ‘Welcome to our wedding’ signs, let your guests know they’re in for a good time from the get-go.

Fill it with flowers

Flowers and a tipi wedding venue are a dream coupling. Lean into the rustic vibes by decorating your tipi with wildflowers to suit your big day colour scheme. Perfect for adding a pop of colour, as well as a stylish ‘bringing the outdoors in’ feel, wildflowers can completely transform the look of your tipi venue. We grow our own seasonal British flowers and foliage on our family farm, right next to our Cotswold tipi wedding venue, and know exactly what kind of displays work best in a tipi space. As well as creating gorgeous floral centrepieces and bouquets, we also supply flowers for you to DIY your own wedding blooms. Whatever colour or style you have in mind, let us know.

All about the lighting

Lighting is crucial for a tipi wedding venue. It’s all about creating that warm, inviting glow, particularly once the sun sets. Twinkling fairy lights are such a magical addition to any tipi venue, but if you fancy making a statement, throw in a few sparkling disco balls or giant light-up letters to help get the party started.

Hanging décor

A tipi wedding venue typically has amazing dimensions to play with, in particular high ceilings, which create a real sense of occasion. Make the most of these with hanging décor that taps into your big day style, whether that’s wooden rings draped with green foliage for a boho vibe, colourful bunting for an English Country Garden feel or swags of fabric for drama. We think it’s always worth talking with your venue owner to find out what works and how easy each look is to achieve, before you commit to anything.

Go for cosy

Whatever the weather, a tipi venue is always a good idea. When temperatures dip at night, ramp up the cosy vibes with clever décor choices. Sheepskin rugs on chairs and benches add a warm feel, while creating small, cosy nooks for guests to chill out (think oversized cushions and loads of blankets) helps to maximise the space a tipi venue offers. Fire pits outside are perfect for creating a festival wedding feel.
